Reference Glossary Planner
Here you can find a glossary of terms/concepts used in workauto related to the planner.
Planner
The planner is a screen used by office staff to view and manage jobs. It shows a full week view of all scheduled jobs, giving a visual overview of workload across your team. You can drag and drop jobs to reschedule them, click on a job to view its details, and add new jobs directly from the planner either via the Add new job button or the + icon on any day column.
Each day column shows the total time assigned for that day, making it easy to see at a glance which days are over or under booked.
Multi-day planner
The planner displays a working week at a time (Monday to Friday), shown as a W/C (week commencing) date. Use the arrow buttons to navigate forward or backward by week, or click Today to return to the current week.
Jobs that span more than one day appear as a single card stretching across all the relevant day columns, with the number of days indicated on the right-hand side of the card. This makes it easy to see technician availability and commitment at a glance.
Planner filters
Click the Filter button at the top of the planner to open the filter panel. The following filters are available:
- Technician — Limit the view to jobs assigned to a specific technician.
- Status — Show only jobs with selected statuses: Booked, Active, On Hold, Workshop Complete, or Job Finished.
- Tags (match any) — Filter by job tags. Any job matching at least one selected tag will be shown.
- Max Job Duration — Hide jobs longer than a chosen duration (1 day, 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, or All). Useful for focusing on shorter jobs without multi-day jobs taking up space in the view.
Filters apply immediately and can be combined. Deselect options or reset Max Job Duration to All to clear them.
